Get your team started with stylized rendering with RenderMan Stylized Looks. In this 4-day in-company Introduction Course, you’ll explore 3D as a creative tool for your project. With hands-on practice and a complete set of assets, you’ll learn to set up and render a unique, ready-to-use stylized look for your film, short, ad, or corporate project.

Designed for studios looking to implement stylized rendering on a specific project quickly, this course gives your team the tools and workflows to set up and render a unique look. With hands-on guidance and a complete set of assets provided by 9to3, your team can immediately start applying these techniques to your own project.
Together, we analyze your reference material and discuss what makes a style unique. Identify the visual elements that define your project’s identity.
We explore the RenderMan Stylized Looks toolset and workflows to start building the look of your project. Learn how to translate your concept into 3D using tone, light, shadow, camera depth, and movement.
We focus on techniques like cell shading, lines, and painterly effects to make your visuals coherent and distinctive.
Finalize your stylized look with hands-on practice. By the end of the course, your team will have developed a ready-to-use style that can be immediately applied to your project.
Practical details
- Duration: 4 days (preferably within one week; 2× 2 days is also possible)
- In-company training: interactive, personal, and directly applied to your project
- Software: RenderMan Stylized Looks 27: XPU with Blender, Maya, Katana, and Houdini (26: RIS version is optional)
- Included: free RenderMan license during training + 12-month commercial license (value € 550) per participant
- Minimum participants: 10, contact us for fewer

This course is designed for studios aiming to refine and implement a ready-to-use style for a specific film, short, ad, or corporate project. You’ll learn how to combine techniques, create custom brushes and patterns, and simulate movement in a stylized manner, giving your project a distinctive visual identity that stands out from photorealistic conventions.
We focus on fire, water, air, and earth. Explore how to make these elements come alive in a stylized way that fits your project’s visual identity.
You learn to bring together multiple stylization techniques and compositing strategies to create a cohesive and dynamic look.
We develop and apply custom brushes and patterns for unique textures, movement, and effects tailored to your project.
Finalize and implement your project-specific stylized look. By the end of the course, your team will have a polished, ready-to-apply style that elevates your project.
